Stainless Steel

Our stainless steel wires are manufactured using the latest technology and the highest grade of stainless steel available. We use 304V stainless steel which is a stainless alloy of 18%-20% chromium, 8%-12% Nickel, maximum 2% Manganese (Mn), maximum 1% Silicon (Si) and Iron (Fe) as the balance providing 420 resistance per circular mil foot. These properties increase the resistance for corrosion and provide a good tensile strength.

Our wires are highly polished for reduced friction and offer less than 3 degrees of torque on rectangular wires. They will perform 390 grams of force with 25-26 degree elastic deflection. All ortho-byte.com stainless steel wires are marked with FDA “white listed” ink for easy identification.
